Dr. John S Green, a Huffines faculty member and Full Clinical Professor in the department of Health & Kinesiology was voted Teacher of the Year by the students in the Kinesiology tract of study. He teaches courses in Exercise Evaluation & Prescription and Therapeutic Principles. He also serves as the research design and statistics consultant for the Huffines Institute
Dr. Green came to A&M in 1989 and assisted current Huffines Director Dr. Steve Crouse in growing the
Applied Exercise Physiology area of specialization and the FITLIFE program. In their senior year, students in the Applied Exercise Physiology tract teach FITLIFE exercise classes available to the faculty, staff, and students of Texas A&M and perform clinical screeing procedures on local fire fighters and police officers. The screeings are conducted under the oversight of the Department of Health & Kinesiology and faculty associated with Sydney and J.L. Huffines Institute for Sports Medicine and Human Performance.
Other important members of this particular faculty are Dr. Steve Martin, an Assistant Clinical Professor and Mr. Brad Lambert, a Ph.D. candidate and graduate assistant. Dr. Martin is the FITLIFE program coordinator while Mr. Lambert teaches studnet laboratories and serves as a Huffines insititute researcher. .Dr. Green spoke highly of these two and credits them with much of his success as an effective teacher over the past several semesters.
